I was born in Florence, a city whose beauty and spirit I have always carried with me. I was raised in Milan and spent part of my childhood and adolescence in France, Belgium, Germany, and the Middle East. Growing up among different cultures taught me that language is much more than a means of communication—it is a doorway into understanding people’s hearts and minds, and discovering the many ways we share, imagine, and experience the world.
I began learning languages at the age of three and was fascinated by their power. By the age of ten, I was already speaking three languages. I attended a German public school with an intensive multilingual program, becoming fluent in Italian, German, English, French, and Latin. My passion for languages led me to the International School for Interpreters and Translators, where I completed nine years of study before beginning my professional career, mostly in business and PR.
I moved to the United States in 2009. Building a new life in a new country brought new discoveries and reminded me once again that language is not only about words—it is about connection.
Since then, I have taught in boarding schools and language schools, sharing with students not only the structure of language but also its beauty, nuance, and charm. I often tell my students that learning a language is like living in an adventure book.
Outside the classroom, I am a passionate rower, runner, and yogi. I also sing Soprano II with the Yale Camerata. Perhaps my love for combining passions began early: at the age of eight, I dreamed of becoming a “whistling ballerina,” learning Beethoven’s symphonies by heart and whistling them while dancing around my parents’ living room.
I look forward to sharing my love of languages and cultures with my students and inspiring them to discover their own adventures through learning.
Francesca
