Meagan Heath

¡Hola! My name is Meagan Heath, and I love learning and teaching languages! I am originally from northeast Georgia and have also lived in other parts of Georgia and South Carolina. Though I grew up in a monolingual household, I began to love Spanish in high school as I was able to talk to people who didn’t speak English. Little did I know then that learning another language would change my entire life.

Because of my passion for Spanish language and literature, I completed an A.B. in Spanish and M.A. in Hispanic Studies at the University of Georgia. In 2024, I earned my PhD in Spanish at the University of South Carolina. In addition to Spanish, I’ve taken courses in French and Portuguese (which I also find very enjoyable!). During these years of school, I taught Spanish to undergraduate students, worked as a translator/interpreter, and studied abroad in Spain.

I also love teaching! My classroom is an interactive and engaging atmosphere for students to interact with one another as they learn Spanish language and cultures of Spanish-speaking countries. Students can expect hands-on activities, songs, pneumonic devices, level-appropriate literature, and explanations of tricky concepts. I’m eager to integrate student interests into lessons and am constantly looking to improve my teaching for my students! Whether you want to learn a language for work, travel, or for fun, I am eager to be a part of your language-learning journey.

Beyond the classroom, I enjoy reading, crocheting, cooking, gardening, and spending time with friends and family. My husband and I look forward to exploring New Haven and the surrounding areas.

I’m excited to be a part of the Aux Trois Pommes community!
