Ciao a tutti! My name is Alma. I was born in a small country on the eastern side of the
Adriatic Sea—Albania, or as Albanians lovingly call it, the “Land of the Eagles.” At the age of
15, I moved to Italy, a country that welcomed me and became my second home.
I spent my first years in Calabria, where I completed high school, before moving to Rome—the
Eternal City—to study at La Sapienza University. There, I earned a bachelor’s degree in
Sociology, followed by a master’s degree in an interdisciplinary program between Sociology and
Urban Planning. Living in Italy for many years allowed me to fully immerse myself in its
culture, traditions, and, most importantly, its beautiful language. Italian became a part of me,
shaping not only how I communicate but also how I see the world.
In 2014, I embarked on a new adventure, moving to the United States, where I built my family
and embraced a new chapter of life. Now, I am excited to share my love for the Italian language
and culture with others.
Albania is who I am. Italy has my heart. And to America, I am grateful.
I look forward to guiding my students on this wonderful journey of learning Italian—with joy
and passion!
Alma
