[Anglophone by birth, francophone by choice.
Hello/Bonjour!
My name is Alexander Croxton and I am native to Connecticut. Having grown up in Norwich, I am no stranger to a culturally and linguistically diverse environment. My passion for language began early on as a child within a monolingual household where my family and I hosted students coming from Japan, France, Spain and Russia, to name a few. I went on to study French, Italian and Chinese in high school and continued at the University of Connecticut where I earned a M.A. in French.
I have had the pleasure of teaching French to non-natives here in the United States, as well as English to undergraduate students in France.
As a non-native, I understand the challenges (and rewards!) that learning a language can present, and believe I am able to offer a helpful perspective as someone who has gone through the same process.
Whether you are interested in trying a new language, planning a trip that may require you to break out your French skills, or striving to join the majority of the world in multilingualism, I am here to help!
I look forward to sharing my personal interest and skills with you!
