Sabrina Lafrenière-Tousignant

Bonjour,

My name is Sabrina Lafrenière-Tousignant. I am from Montreal and I just moved to New Haven with my husband who is working as a post-doctoral fellow at Yale University. I have a B.Sc. in elementary and pre-school education from Université de Montréal, a well renowned French university in Canada. For the past 6 years, I have been working full-time as a French elementary school teacher in Montreal, in classes from grade 1 to 6. I specialize in using new technologies to enhance the kids learning experience. I developed many activities designed for interactive boards. I also enjoy working on French youth literature and I have introduced several pedagogic activities in my former school (projects as the Story Bag and the Daily Five).

For the past few months, I have been writing a French multi-leveled exercise book for 1st and 2nd graders (age 6 to 8).

I attended many seminars to learn more about French as a second language teaching and I am very excited about teaching it here in Guilford and New Haven.
I am a fun and innovative teacher. I am curious, patient and have a lot of energy. Learning is so much fun and my mission is to make sure my students enjoy learning and feel rewarded by the efforts they make doing so! I can’t wait to meet you and your children to share the joy of speaking French!

Au plaisir!
